  • Day 1: Leave Ouarzazate in the morning and head east towards Sahara. Once you leave town, the scenery is impressive, with dark volcanic stones and no vegetation, only occasional and beautiful acacia trees. Next, you go through the town of Agdz and along the date palmerie of Draa valley, which makes the scenery surprisingly green. The mountains around make you think you are somewhere in Arizona. The desert capital of Zagora comes next and from there, the feeling of being in the desert intensifies. Just before you reach Mhamid, you can stay in a hostel, which lookes like a small kasbah. You have another opportunity to stay in a nomadic tent right under the dunes. Our kasbah has date palms in the garden and small dunes nearby. The sunset from the roof terrace is magical. Dinner at the campfire and the stars, there are many stars in the sky because there is no light pollution.
  • Day 2: In the morning after breakfast, you go to Mhamid to see the last settlement of Morocco - Sahara all the way to Egypt from there - and then you return to Ouarzazate, you stop in a library/pottery town of Tamgroute. You can also have a short walk in the palmerie of Draa valley before you return back to Ouarzazate. You will have a really good time!
